Prairie Hardwood Company
Third-generation hardwood specialists serving Sioux Falls since 1998.
About Prairie Hardwood Company
Prairie Hardwood Company has been installing and refinishing hardwood floors in Sioux Falls since 1998. Founded by Robert Halverson and now run by his son Mark, the business specializes in both new hardwood installations and heritage refinishing work on older homes.
We work primarily in mid-range and premium hardwood species — white oak, hickory, and select-grade maple — with a growing LVP practice for basements and secondary spaces. Every quote includes detailed subfloor moisture testing, flatness verification, and a written 5-year workmanship warranty.
Our team of four full-time installers has worked together for the past eight years. That continuity matters: consistent craftsmanship, consistent communication, and consistent follow-up long after the project completes.

— Sarah K., McKennan Park
"We worked with Prairie Hardwood on a full main-floor install. They knew the difference between our subfloor conditions and delivered a floor that still looks perfect three years later."
— David R., All Saints
